Underwater Dredge: 25' or 65' Convertible Ladder, 36" Cutterhead. Dredge was originally purchased with a 25' ladder. In 1995 we purchased a bolt-on 40' ladder extension and bolt-on float extension, so dredge ladder can be either 25' or 65'. The dredge is powered by a reman N14 Cummins engine with a 3 year warrantee which was placed in service April 2006. Auxiliary engine is a Cummins 4 cylinder Irrigator. Both engines utilize oil burner systems, the burner pulls oil from the sump and mixes with the fuel to be burned and replaces the oil with new oil. The engines only require filter changes. Pump is a GIW 8x10 LSA 32 with Pearce 10 x10 wet parts. Cutter-head was replaced summer 2005 with a DSC 36" underwater cutter drive. Pump is driven through 4 independent 4 15/16" shafts that are bearing mounted with automatic lube system that continuously supplies grease to the bearings. Pump is driven with Lufkin reducer that was rebuilt by Lufkin in 2006. Dredge is maneuvered by three 15,000 lb winches. PLC controls ConVac valve and both engines. Dredge operator has real-time information on pressure, vacuum, engine temp (both), engine oil pressure (both), and RPM.
